On 12 September, 2012 as part of my visit to Productronica and Electronica India in Bangalore, I attended the Space Expo. What an inspiration! After the daily challenges of managing without roads, power and water, it was an eye opener to see how another organization in the same Indian environment was able to overcome its difficulties. India has made major strides in space research and in space based solutions for crop management, weather forecasting, communication and navigation. We have made some boards for ISRO and Prof. Satish Dhawan was on our Board of Directors and was a well wisher for many years but it was still amazing and a pleasant shock to see in one venue how many things ISRO has been able to do to meet India’s developmental needs. Truly World Class work!
